Lady of the Night
I don’t know the source of the illustration, but this flickr page hosts the largest version I could find.
Thanks to a commenter, “me”, we have an update:
Lady of the Night
Illustration and poem by Don Blanding, c. 1935
This Night
I see a luminescent trail
Of powdered stardust, faint and pale,
Across the sky, like moths in flight.
A crescent moon of phantom white
Is tangled in the filmy veil.
My heart responds with quick delight,
I greet the Lady of the Night.
Now I am off to find the book this was published in, Memory Room.
Another Update
The book has arrived and here is the full resolution scanned image of both the illustration and poem.
