Quinzhee – to do

Frax is a beautiful, feature-filled app made by the people who were making fractal lab. You can watch their homepage tutorial video for the app in action and then look at their high quality render samples and user created gallery.
Similarly, here are some fractal flythroughs. I hope a versatile 3D fractal explorer is released some day, with virtual reality support.

Demoscene is a grammatically awkward name describing a genre of programmed art. Demoscene usually showcases the technical prowess of the artist, particularly with constraints on software size (the above program is 4kb!) or hardware capability (every old computing device you can think of).
Pouet has a good selection of demoscene and Annikras records videos of popular submissions.
This is similar, but runs in a browser and does not involve music.

The Sound of Sorting

, on November 5, 2013

The sound of sorting is a program that visualizes and audiolizes various sorting algorithms. It is a ton of fun, from hearing crazy pacman noises to trying to figure out how the different sorting mechanisms work to seeing which algorithms are best for different data sets.
Bonus Hungarian quicksort folk dance.

Requiem for Romance and Microsoft Garage Mouse without Borders
First is a beautiful video and second is a great program that allows you to share your mouse, keyboard, clipboard, and files across computers.
